Stairlift Case Study – Mr & Mrs G

True Mobility were contacted by Mr & Mrs G and asked to quote for a stairlift at their new home.

On the face of it the staircase looked like a relatively simple straight flight of stairs with a fan (turn) at the top. However, on further inspection it became evident that it was not as straightforward as first imagined. The bottom step protruded further than all of the other steps and there was very little room at the top to turn, park and swivel the seat for the user to get on and off.

Following a detailed survey of the stairs Platinum stairlifts were able to design a special bend to make the tight turn at the top of the stairs and combine this with a special offset footplate and altered climb angle to cross the extended bottom step.
